American Bison at Rooney Ranch are pastured with two of our horses, but are handled as little as possible to ensure they retain their natural instincts and behavior. They are free to spend all day grazing on the green grass, allowing them to thrive in a stress-free environment. Feeding only hay along with free choice minerals and salt means that no additional grains are part of their everyday diet, which is crucial for maintaining the quality of the meat produced. This natural feeding approach not only supports their well-being but also enhances the quality of the meat produced. Our bison are not given any non-therapeutic drugs, chemicals, or hormones at any point during their lives, ensuring that the meat is as pure as possible. This natural farming practices makes bison the ideal meat for anyone concerned about what is going into their meat and into their mouth, providing a delicious and healthy option for health-conscious consumers.
